Beauty Blogger Tag

Hello Lovelies

I was reading 'we were raised by wolves' blog the other day and she did a tag which I thought was really fun, so here goes.

1.What beauty resolutions have you set yourself for 2013?

I haven't really set any resolutions this year, but I have signed up to the local college to do a Makeup Course.  Would you be interested in me blogging about it?

2. If you could click your fingers and make one beauty product appear to be yours, what would it be?

This is a bit of a cope out answer but; I would click my fingers and have what ever foundation made my skin look like perfect skin and did not break me out.  I am still on the hunt and every time I think I have found it something goes wrong.  Any ideas?

3. Tell me one of your favourite makeup tips.

Apply gel liner in the upper inner rim of your eyes, instant thick lashes! :)  It takes a little bit of getting used to though.

4. If you could raid anyone's makeup bag, famous or not, whose would it be?

The Pixwoo Sisters, I think it would be more like a makeup room then bag though.  I would love to have a rummage with them and really get to know what they like and why they use certain products.

5. What's your current favourite skincare brand?

Liz Earle and Vichy

Review Coming Soon.

6. Why did you decide to start blogging?

There where a couple of reasons I started blogging.  the main one was I was addicted to reading beauty blogs and watching YouTube Videos.  I was going to make videos to start but I was a bit worried about putting my face to the world on such a famous platform.  I don't think I would deal with the hate too well.  Because of this I thought about starting a blog, I also really struggle with dyslexia and writing my blog has helped me.
7. Who is your celebrity style crush?

I am in love with everything about Lauren Conrad.  If I could be anyone in the world I would be her.  She is so classy and she is interested in everything I am...  I think we should actually be best friends, we just haven't meet yet :) *crazy stalker person*
8. If you could eat just one food forever, what would it be?

NANDOS!  That was easy :)

9. What is your dream job?

I get board of things pretty easy so I would like a job where by I could do a different job every month. January - Makeup Artist, February -Teacher, March - Shop Manager, April - Zoe Keeper, May..... you get my drift.
10. What is your favourite film?

I am little bit of a sado and for some who was born in 1985 my favourite films are the Harry Potter and Twilight Sets.  Don't hate me everyone, I'm just being honest!
I can watch any kind of film and enjoy it though, Jordan and I don't watch TV at all so if we want to veg out with some popcorn in the evening we will put one of our 300+ DVDs on.  Our DVD collection ranges from Fight Club to Not Another Teen Movie to Transformers to The Godfather.
11. Tell me one random fact about you - it can be anything!

There was a chance that when I was born my mum was going to call me.......wait for it...... you wont believe me......
Moonbeam!
I know, I am so lucky my nan got hold of me and told the nurse my name was Emma.  My mum was, and still is at heart, a Hippy so that might explain it :)

Banoffee Pie - Yummy and Easy

Hello Lovelies

I know it is January and everyone is on their health kicks but we all have to live a little and have a little bit of what we fancy, other wise whats the point of toffee and chocolate being put on the planet!

I have never made a Banoffee Pie before as it looked fairly hard but I was wrong.  It is one of the easiest things ever and it is so yummy - one of my staff even licked the plate :)

You will need:

250g of Digestive Biscuits
110g of Unsalted Butter
1 Tin of Condeneced Milk
2 Ripe (almost brown) Bananas
1 pot of Double Cream (wipped)
1 Flake or Coco Powder.

1. Without opening the tin of Condensed Milk, place the tin in a pan of water (fully covered) and bring to the boil, leaving to simmer for 1 hour and 30/45 mins, then allow to cool completely(mine took about 30mins). I think you can buy the already cooked milk though.

2. Melt the butter in a pan on a very low heat.

3. Break and crush the biscuits (I did this in a zip lock bag with a rolling pin :)) and then place in a mixing bowl.

4. Add the melted butter to the biscuits and stir thoroughly (the biscuit seems quite dry but it is perfect once it sets)

5. Press the biscuit mix into a greased cake tin. I used one you can pop the bottom out of so I could get it out, but a spring case will be good too.

6. Place the biscuit base in the fridge for about an hour to set.

7. Carefully open the cooled tin of condensed milk and spoon the contents onto the biscuit base, spreading evenly. It is fairly sticky but spreads easily with a spoon.

8. Leave pie to chill for an hour in the fridge.

9. Chop the Bananas and place on toffee

10. Spread the whipped cream over the chilled pie.

11. Sprinkle chocolate on the top.

12. Chill untill ready to serve, or scoff on the Sofa :)

13. Go for a run! hehe

The Products I am Using Right Now #2

Hello Lovelies

I haven't done this type of post for a while and things have changed a lot since then.  Here is my first post.

Shampoo and Conditioner: I tend to use a mixture of Shampoo and Conditioner, I find that it keeps things exciting and also lessens the chance of product build up. In my shower at the moment is:

L'Oreal Ever Strong Shampoo – I have re-purchased this a few times but I really don't know what I like about it, it is just a good everyday shampoo that does what a shampoo should.

L'Oreal Fall repair X3 – This is a recent purchase it seems to be good for them really dull hair days where it needs some TLC. I can really feel the difference in the ends of my hair when I have used this.

It's a 10 Miracle Hair Mask – Full review coming soon.

Aussie 3 minuet Miracle SHINE. – I have reviewed the 3 Minuet Miracle products before and this one is no different. Read my comparison with high end treatments here

Lush BIG - See full review here

Styling Products:

It’s a 10 Miracle leave in Conditioner – this is truly one of the best things in my whole beauty collection. I really does do what it says on the tin. Full review coming soon.

Babyliss Big Hair Hot Air Styler – This is my new toy, I got it for Christmas from Jordan. It is a amazing. I will rave about it in a post coming soon.

Body Moisturiser: I don’t really use one but I should as i have dry skin on my legs, I am just too lazy and I really don’t like the feeling cream on my body and it sort of makes me cringe rubbing it in. Does anyone have any suggestion on how I can get round my wired fears.

Deodorant: Sure Skin Care 24 Hour - I have fairly sensitive skin under my arms so a lot of deodorant makes me itchy. This one I have found is fine and it keeps me nice a fresh all day :).

Fake Tan: I am not a tan-aholic but for spacial associations I will do a tan;

St Moritz - It has been the same for a few years now.

Rimmel Sun Shimmer Wash off - I am loving this for a quick tan. You can put on for a night out and then wash off the next morning. It sets quickly and leaves a nice even colour that’s not orange, you just need to pray it doesn’t rain.  I have also discovered the Tanning Mit... I don’t know how I tanned without this before. It makes life so much easier.

Foundation: I change my foundation up and I don’t wear it all the time as I need to give my skin time to breath otherwise I will break out. That being said I don’t have a few I reach for more often.

Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua – I bought this because I heard a lot of good reviews about it, I must admit I am Chanel Fan and to me it is the height of makeup luxury so I was very excited about. It is good but not great for skin but I still wear it because I feel posh then I have it on. Fickle but true. :)

Clinique Anti Blemish – This has been in my collection for a few years now and I have re-purchased it loads of times. A full review here

Bourjois Healthy Mix – I like this foundation to make my skill feel alive, I feels like it is doing your skin some good when I wear it. Again this one is not great for my skin (breaks me out) but I like the semi matte finish it gives me.

If you have any foundation recommendations for acne prone skin please let me know. I am in the market!

Cleanser:

Liz Earl Cleans and Polish – This a staple in my life and I don’t think I could live without it. I use it about 3 times a week.

Vitcy Normaderm Cleansing Gel – Full Review Coming Soon.

Vitcy Normaderm Exfoliator – Full Review Coming Soon.

Foundation Brush:

Real Techniques Buffing Brush – I have three of these so I always have a clean one ready to go. I love it so much

Real Techniques Expert Face Brush – This is similar to the buffing brush but slightly smaller so it is good for getting closer the nose and eye areas. Need to get a few more :)  Review on all the Real Technique Brushes here.

Powder: I don’t really use one.

Concealer: I have a few for different things.

Collection Lasting Perfection – a brilliant all over concealer for small issues.

Bobby Brown Corrector – For under my eyes when they are particularly bad

MAC Studio Finish – for them stubborn issues that just won’t cover i break out this bad boy. If I use this to much it does break me out though. But now and again it is fine.

Blush: It changes depending on what king of look I am going for but I am loving;

NARs Orgasm – It is the perfect every day colour and look natural but glowing on my skin.

Bronzer:

NYC Smoothing Skin Bronzer in Sunny – Thank you Sam Sherman for making me aware of this bronzer. I saw in a local discount shop (the warehouse factory) and picked it up for £2. Bargain and I love it!

Highlighter: I change this up depending on what blush I am using but I tend to reach for my;

Dior Amber Diamond – Review here

Eyeshadow Base: It has been the same for about 5 years;

Urban Decay Primer Potion – I have decanted mine in to an old MAC Fluid Line pot. It is so much easier to use and doe not dry up.

Eyeshadows:

MAC, Urban Dacay and INGLOT

Eyeliner: I mostly just use eyeshadows with a eyeliner push brush. I learnt the technique from Gossmakeupartist. Check out his video here.

Lash Curler:

Shu Uemura – Full Review here.

Mascara:

Clinique High Impact – I seem to have lots of the little sample tube of this mascara which is handy because I love it.

Lipstick: How can you choose just one? I do post Lipsticks on the week though so you can see what I love on a weekly basis. Follow me on twitter and I will update you when I have posted.

Lipgloss: I don’t really wear lipgloss anymore, I like lip conditioners better now.

I would love to know what products you are using right now? If you do something like this them please let me know in the comments or on twitter.

Vampy Nails

Hello Lovelies

I am taking full advantage of the very generous gift jordan bought be in December.  I got the Ciate Nail Varnish Advent Calendar.  I was so happy and opening the little doors to a cute little bottle of joy every day made a very long december brilliant.  There are lots of blogs post on the actual calendar so I won't chat about it all here, just google it and some girls have taken some fantastic pictures of the calendar and all the cute little bottles.

What it now means, is I have even more beautiful shades of nail varnish to add to my ever growing collection.  :)

Two of my favorites colours from the collection are Dangerous Affair 013 and Halo 089.

Dangerous Affair is a flat dark maroon and looks very vampy on the nails.  I must admin with the Ciate colours I have found that they need at least 3 coats, some times even 4!  I am not sure if this is because I have the minis and the brush is not that good or if it is the formulation of the polish.  Either way I am in love with the colour and pain staking 3 coats is worth it.

Halo (on my ring finger only) is one of them polishes that you can put on the top of any other colour and it will instantly transform it into something magical.  I know that is a little bit of an 'airy fairy' word but it does make it magical.  In different lights it goes from a purple shimmer to blue but still allows the base colour to shine through.  The only thing I don't like about this polish, and what I have noticed with all the glitter/simmer polishes from Ciate, is that they smell like...I don't know what, but its not good and it lingers for about 4 hours after painting.  Even Misty agrees with me! I do however recommend this polish to anyone.

While we are talking nails, I am in the market for a new top coat because I am really not getting on with the Sally Hanson one I am using.  It seems to makes my polishes peel off :(

What's your favorite nail polish colour?

Lipstick of the Week - Chanel Pirate

Hello Lovelies

I can not say that I have worn this lipstick alot this week as it is not a day to day colour however, it has defiantly been my favorite.

Jordan bought it for me as Christmas Gift and I truly love it.  It is one of them lipsticks that make you feel like a real lady.  Something a mother would have on her dressing table next to her pearls and a little girl would dream over it while walking around in her 'borrowed' high heels.

Chanel Rouge Allure - Pirate (99)

The packaging is a little strange and I am not normally one for things that are out of the ordinarily but even I think this is quite cool.  This 'coolness'  however, could be the fact that Chanel can do no wrong in my eyes. :)  You kind of have to un-pop the lipstick out!

The colour is a red with blue undertones which is the most flattering colour for my skin tone and makes your teeth and eyes look a lot whiter and fresh.

This is just one coat - How I prefer to wear it.

What is your favorite lipstick at the moment?
